Kathryn Hunt

Kathryn Hunt is a writer and filmmaker living in Port Townsend, Washington. She is the director and producer of several award-winning documentary films, including "No Place Like Home," about a ten-year-old girl who lives with her family in hotels and homeless shelters. The film was broadcast nationally on the public television series P.O.V. It was selected for screening at the Venice Biennale and at festivals in Cork (Ireland), Lisbon, Melbourne, Sydney, Paris, and St. Petersburg (Russia), among others.

Her feature-length documentary, "Take This Heart," was broadcast nationally on PBS, and was awarded the Anna Quindlen Award for Excellence in Journalism.

Her poems and essays have appeared in Crab Creek Review, Pacific Northwest, and The Sun, among other magazines. She is currently at work on a memoir about growing up in the Pacific Northwest.
